Those who complains about curruption in back home, will NOT try to improve system back home and also in case of GC processing, their contribution will be only "Negative comments" but NO constructive approach to improve ANY systems..

Dear friends, why do you seek to start bashing your country at the first opportunity you get. THere are people in the Indian Govt who are negotiating on your behalf to make sur you get your money back.
THen on the question of paying bribes to get money out of PPF - something is better than nothing. Why complain. If it is so bad, go back and fight to fix the system, otherwise stop maoning. India is the only country that will welcome you if you are kicked out of here. I remember i used to pay 50 INR per ticket for a railway seat, now i go online and book a ticket. The fact is republicans don’t like non whites to immigrate to US and the democrats are color blind to most extent but they are class conscious, they like illegals and poor people to immigrate to US because they can control them whereas they cannot control and herd the EB immigrants.
"reforming" the US immigration system by introducing a points based system where even existing applicants like the EB folks who have been in US for the last 10+ years have to re apply in points based nonsense system.
We will all have to fight for our cause but don’t have unrealistic expectations from CIR. Our best bet is a non cir piece meal bill visa recapture bill that addresses EB issues seperate from CIR, it is difficult to get such a bill passed but the chances for such a bill are better then Obama-durbin cir

Donated money once & have called congressmen & senators many times ...
Could someone please tell me -
What has been achieved by IV till date? I know we all meet elected reps, officials in washington dc ..... but I am interested in end result like not wasting visa numbers , implementing spillover & along these lines.
I have asked few friends to join IV but then if they ask me for IV accomplishments - i can't count any....
If IV has accomplished its objectives, then there is no need for any of us to join. But anyway, the following might be listed...hope this helps.

Here are the some of the issues
1)Some credit unions will not open an account for your if you are not a citizen/green card holder
2)Same problem with Home loans some banks will not extend loans (I have personally faced these two issues)
3) With the realid act some stats are not giving driving license to non-immigrants that may have fixed but you still need to extend every year even if the state gives a license
4)You cannot get an homestead exemption(tax credit) if you buy a house
5)The latest tax stimulus package will not give tax credit to ITIN holders and with out immigrant status (or EAD) you cannot get an SSN.
As you all know we pay the taxes all kinds of taxes , help economy with our purchase power I can go on with the kind of positive things we bring to this country but for some reason we don't have any rights. I completely agree with the OP the crying baby gets the milk or cranky wheel gets the oil first. Every one if you don't fight for it we are not going get any thing. Remember the congress has write a letter to USCIS saying that the fee for N400 is increased but the service is not any better , why can't the same logic applied to green card applicants the fee is increased but we don't get any congress support isn't that something. Any way's that's my 2 cents....

Oh, they were about to trap me into joining them, I did an interview through them back in 2001 the client wanted to hire and when I told them I am not interested, they started forcing me, then they sent a employee to my apartment to bring me to their place, my roommate joined them and he also had a tough time, he later transferred his h1 to a middle client and after that both me and my roommate had to constantly workout strategies to get his w2s, paystubs etc.... they gave him a real tough time

It is easier for you to go to India if your company sends you there on an expat assignment. As the pool of available labor is very high, it is IMHO very difficult for you to go independently. You can also try to google for agencies that recruit people for specific skills etc that maybe in short supply in your specific industry. I am not sure what your skills are (IT, Sales, Marketing or Engineering etc). More information would let people give you better pointers.

1. Doesn't matter who it is citizen or not - you have to show legal status. If you read the law carefully, you will be put in a holding prision and given a change to prove legal status (contact family tobring your passport), etc. This is not a traffic stop - a decision will not be made on the stop. That's why there are strict rules stating who can be asked.
2. By law you have to carry identification. Does this mean as a citizen or non-immigrant visa holder, you have to roam with all your docs? No! This is why we fought so hard to make sure US-states give driver's licenses?ID cards to people here legally ONLY. So, you just carry your DL.

IMHO "legally" exploiting the system is illegal. I don't blame the system because any system will have some flaws in them. I would rather blame people who take advantage of situations esp in scenarios like this. We all know how much time some people has waited here. We heard a story on Monday right? Have we already forgot that? IV's goals and objectives are clear on its home page. Here comes the OP, registers himself and comes up with his first post of Labor substitution and how to better himself. I don't see any thing wrong in pete getting fired up. This exact attitude is the result of 6500 members and not 25,000 or what ever.

You are absolutely right. I participated in IV's advocacy effort in Washington last year. But I regret that I could not do the same this year.
No IV provision is in the bill.
For something to happen, each member needs to do their part by supporting this effort and taking part in action items. With so little support and initiative we cannot expect to match the kind of hard work DREAM act advocates have done.
If we need an amendment, we should be showing up for advocacy day or signing up for monthly contributions, volunteer our time, or doing any state chapter work by meeting local lawmaker offices regularly in groups. Dream Act folks have built a very strong network and advocacy effort that no politician can ignore. Go through the list of things they have been doing over the past few years and you can judge how much percentage we have as a community matched that effort. This is a reality and and ultimately it will be us that are responsible for no bill being passed in the last few years.
The community needs to do more than wasting time on the forums and trackers if they really want any bill to happen.
No IV provision is in the bill.
For something to happen, each member needs to do their part by supporting this effort and taking part in action items. With so little support and initiative we cannot expect to match the kind of hard work DREAM act advocates have done.
If we need an amendment, we should be showing up for advocacy day or signing up for monthly contributions, volunteer our time, or doing any state chapter work by meeting local lawmaker offices regularly in groups. I am one of the unlucky ones on EB3 india who missed the july 2007 bus. With my PD under EB3 India, I know I am looking at 10-15 year wait. So I am planning to switch jobs and apply under EB2. I have done some research and I know that the position and the qualifications both have to match to go through in EB2. Those have successfully ported from EB3 to EB2, Can you guys throw some light on whether USCIS has any specific requirements like salary, previous holders of the position etc etc for EB2. Also, if i apply I-140 under EB2 with the new employer and pay 1000$ from my pocket for premium processing, are there more chances of rejection/RFE due to premium processing?Pls help me get out of the EB3 shit.
