Guys.....if you want to change representation to self in your 485 case, you do not need to file a form G-28......G-28 is for lawyers seeking permission to represent you. You do not need a permission for yourself............all you have to do is send USCIS a letter saying all future correspondence should be done with you and you are representing yourself on this case hereon....follow up after a month after sending the letter to ensure they have changed you as the point of contact on the case........If you are substituting your current lawyer by another one, then you need a new G-28

?? A new bill in senate to reform H1B ???
I was just watching LuDobb's show on CNN and saw a clip on a proposed bill (being prepared by Sen.Durbin and another whose name I forgot) to revamp/reform H1B program. From the brief discussion, got the impression that the bill is more concentrated on controlling the h1B program with more checks and rules etc. Obviously Dobbs liked it - not sure if there are any other measures in that bill. Also not sure why another bill if CIR/STRIVE act is in works which is supposed to cover all immigration issues. Anyone else saw any related news elsewhere?

A friend of mine (from India) got his GC approval notice on 6/3. Here are the details:
LC PD - April 12 2003.
I-485 RD - June, 07, ND - July 16th 2007.
Filing Center - NSC
Received RFE 5/14/08.
Submitted reply 5/30. USCIS ack 5/31. Soft update again on 6/02.
6/03 received email about card production ordered.
Congrats to all those lucky souls.

understandably so.. but I am now current after a looooong time. EB3 Dec 2001 PD. I can finally file the AOS for my wife who has been on H4 for the last 2 yrs... excellent!

So any spill over from EB1 will come to EB2 India and China (effectively only to India). And if EB2 ROW does not use up their remaining numbers (which they have not so far) during the rest of fiscal year they will also spill to EB2 India.

I have worked in the EU for more than 6 years - it is a very tough place to work and live - I bet most people here wold not last very long in the EU environment - there is a clear segregation over there huge language issues, huge cultural barriers and serious acceptability hurdles.
All this blue card business is just talk - Germany had introduced a similar card sometime ago and there was a big rush to get those - after a year most of those cards went un utilized and finally Germany killed the scheme, guess what most folks who landed there had tough time getting stuff done and constantly faced huge social resistance.
Also building a permanent life in the EU similar to one that most folks are looking for here - is very difficult not mention expensive and forget about career advancement and all that stuff - every time you feel like getting some satisfaction - just fly down to Amsterdam - that is pretty much it.
The best option for those folks looking to get out of the GC loop is India - that is where the action is if you dont want to stay here.
Most people who say that EU is a great option are clueless about the real world.

To solve the FBI name check problem, the following suggestions should be communicated to lawmaker if possible:

Read my message - I am *NOT* an IV member and nor did I represent myself as one - like many people I just subscribed to public portal - if you want to limit it to IV members, you must consider doing that .
As far as talking in the meeting was considered, it was not an IV meeting and open to the public and I have all the right to say what I want to - whether it is inline with what you want to hear or not is not my problem.
Tone yourself down before you point fingers elsewhere. GC is not your birth right.

Now dont tell me that you got info about the event some where else. If every one of us try to get our own issue or a group of 15-20 people's issue solved we wont get any thing. This is common sense. What you said about making it paid site/open for certain members sounds bland to me. I am appalled that your thought process is not at all in sync with your accomplishments. If you think you can sell your group story and bring GC to the massess dream on. IV sure has lot of compelling stories that are sold already, but politics is bigger than you,me and our stories. If you are working only for people who are sought after by the stanford's and harvard's, move on.

3. AC21 compatibility explaination - 180 days etc, Job description comparision with PERM
4. Conclusion and offer for employment with salary details.
I must say in my case the salary i had in original perm was way(40%) more than i am getting on my current job due to location change and economy etc. But it seems salary didn't matter.
