OH MY GOD!!!! OK this only took 2 days to figure out.

My cable company (ssshhh Adelphia) does this thing called *Hardware Capture* which means the first computer to use the IP address in the only one that can. It saves the hardware code from your computer so it knows when it should and shouldn't ping it. Well i found this out and this is what i did.

1: I told them that I wanted to change my main computer to another, when I did that I hooked it up to the airport. And everything worked.

Using the Incase snap smoke ... but only about twice per month when I'm doing something outside (at a game, hiking, etc)

Otherwise, I'm anti-case, pro-taking care of your belongings.

Well SafariSpeed works great, but PithHelmet crashed Safari when I went to CNN.com. I noticed PithHelmet hasn't been updated since 10.3.8 came out, so maybe that's the problem. Thanks for the tips!

I remember using OS X for the first time when I was probably 14 and I couldn't stand it. It wasn't that I didn't like it but everything seemed so much different on OS 9. However I love OS X now. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

i can exactly identify with that. when i first got my ibook, i only used 9. once i realized my folly, i tried to boot into X and found that my system folders were screwy, so i just had to get jaguar, then panther, and now tiger:D

Device convergence. Cameraphones have been catching up very nicely as of late. I can do so me pretty astounding things with my iPhone 4 camera plus photo software. The only real issue yet to be sorted out is zoom.
Until they start adding a decently sized sensor there will be no true convergence. The iPhone does take great pictures - for a phone. There's no comparison when it comes to a point and shoot camera, never mind a digital SLR.

Both cameras handle low light situations, much better then the iPhone, the aperture can handle faster shutter speeds so you can increase/decrease the aperture and shutter speeds depending on the conditions.

Cameras have way too much ability and performance over a camera phone. They're only catching up on megapixels, sensor size, RAW, aperture, lens, shutter speed have not been addressed on a phone

I'm on the mac and I was trying DiscAid and iPhone Explorer, PhoneView and all of them are showing that iPhone is passcode locked. I know the passcode but while screen was broken she put this so many times that now it doesn't even let you put passcode it just asks for iTunes.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but...
If you simply see the 'Connect to iTunes' with a USB plug and the iTunes icon, its more than likely that she had the option to 'erase content after 10 failed passcode attempts' checked when she set up her passcode. By entering the code so many times she may have inadvertently deleted the pics herself... along with everything else.
I hope this isn't the case and that she does get her photos back but if you connect it to iTunes and the only option is to restore there may not be anything left on the phone already...

Snow Leopard 10.6 is a full install, so you can start with an empty HDD (since your machine shipped with 10.5, there's no chance of having a newer/special build of 10.6.x).

Am I the only one who notices that photos taken on the iPhone 4 front camera look wonky in this app? For one, the rotation is opposite what the original photo was.

On the MobileMe gallery web page, IP4 front camera photos are rotated correctly, however the aspect ratio is way off making everything look fat.

Not to be the pooper, but it looks really congested. Maybe have a floating shelf system under the TV, or something other than that huge shelf piece. I had a room when I lived in Florida, and at first, I had a huge book shelf and tv stand. I ended up getting a two piece glass setup for my ps3, dish box, etc., and some shelves that go on the wall from Ikea, which made the room much more spaced and open. For a room, I always feel like that less is more. Just my $.02.

it doesn't know where to find the curl command unless it was built in.

Which might explain why ls works and curl doesn't. I know I've run into this myself, so this is a likely part of the problem as is not checking the return codes.

I have an Emac that turns on, but doesn't start properly; the screen stays black and the fan is working. It used to beep/flash a light a couple of times to indicate what was wrong (unfortunately I don't remember how many times, but sort of remember looking up what it meant - I think it was a motherboard or CPU issue), but the beeping/flashing and chiming stopped.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and what was wrong with your Emac?

I've done the following once a week on all the laptops we have here, without worry:

-Rubbing alcohol on old washcloth. Takes care of case, keyboard, touchpad, wrist area. Don't saturate the washcloth; just enough to dampen it, then wipe all the surfaces except screen.

-Eyeglass cleaner from drugstore for display. Comes in small spray bottle. Use it with a microfiber cloth for the display. Same as with rubbing alcohol; just enough to dampen the cloth, then wipe display.

    Enjoy.
