Yes, please dont include money for US CIS fees as you will get that money back.
I spent $500 for medical.
Lawyer fee and other expenses (fedex etc) (around $2000) - paid by my company.
plus $1500 is filing fee (which I guess should be refunded).

And this willwin guy has the nerve to give me a red mark on my post saying I'm not being diplomatic... like I care about being diplomatic when they want IV to shift its primary focus in order to cater to such ridiculous asks!! Mark Kirkoreiean's (or whatever his name is) thesis is that not everyone who gets a green card through EB is a genius, and that is not good for America. "Einstein" here doesn't understand that it takes more than a genius to make a company successful, and thereby create more jobs for your average Joe. If you are in the business of developing cutting edge technology, you certainly need some very smart people in your labs. But the guy who actually gets the product out of the door is your moderately above average skilled employee who knows how to get the job done. The whole argument that America needs the "best and the brightest" only is terribly flawed. And what better example than this Kericorien (or whatever his name is) character himself. In his testimony, he suggests that EB should be limited to EB1, and that too, to about 15K. Great, these 15K people will be able to do the job of the 500K gainfully employed individuals whose EB application is pending. Super! Good luck with selling that Mark.

After getting the EAD/AP within three months, I don't think our problem is solved already. We will be at certain point in time be in the same situation as the poster above.
Who told you that you will get EAD/AP in three months. Nothing will prevent USCIS to develop backlogs in EAD/AP too now. "Oh there were so many filed in June/July so that we can't process them that fast anymore...":cool:

There is 200k application without 140 approval, this is including july filers.
there is lot of chnace for those who got their I-140 approved, even their PD '2006.
you can see people getting approved PD'2005 EB2 cases, even then VB says now 2004'apr for EB2.They are not processing based on PD now and in future also i gues.Since we have already filed.PD will restrict only to File I-485 in future.
I think EB2-jan2007 and EB3-Aprl2005 in October VB

That is wishful thinking.I know people with more recent priority dates got cleared in june but it will go back to PD system from now on again,how else can they do it.The reason why (to eveyone's surprise) they made everything current was to clear some of these cases which were filed long ago(I-485) but were stuck due to the retrogression.This is obviously not going to happen again for sometime since they now have hundreds of thousands of more cases.

Is there any update on three bills in house. I have checked the hearing schedule for all committees and there seems to be no hearing scheduled for any of these bills. House is in session till September 7 and after that District work period and convention shows, which leaves us with just 4 weeks from now and after that It reconvens from September 9 with target adjournment date of 26th september and i m pretty sure no congressional rep will like to cast vote on any bills before going into election....
Prospects seems bleak now... Is there anything we can do...any last attempt that is required? If so...Let us all know...

I am a nurse so we better flood the job market; don't you think so?
Now how does that makes me an anti-immigrant :mad: :mad: :mad: . I am ofcourse happy that so many of my friends here are going one step further in getting GC. Something is better than nothing. But, suddenly more than 1/2 mill people getting EAD will have some effect on the market. People(on H1B) loosing jobs after 3-4 months may find themselves in a difficult situation to get a job.
I am on H1B myself, how can I ever be an anti-immigrant ?:) :) I was expecting a little bit more permamnent solution and not a band-aid solution as somebody pointed out.

International students come on F1 visa and get instate tuition fee from state universities. Our kids are on H4s so that will not qualify them to attend undergraduate in state schools? Is F1 required to get instate tuition fee? I am not understanding the situation here. Please somebody clarify if possible.
F-1 students do not enjoy any more privileges than H-4 applicants. In fact, you may like to check with the university authorities, for H-4 students pay in-state tuition if other requirements are fulfilled. Things like residency for a period of time, employment of guardians, etc.
To my knowledge, F-1 students do not qualify for in-state tuition at all. They can apply for a minuscule number of tuition waivers on grounds of economic hardship, academic performance and the like. However, the situation may vary from univ to univ and state to state. My knowledge is limited to Georgia, and specifically Georgia Tech, GSU and UGA

Defence deals , trade , outsourcing and immigration have always been very closely related all these years . The main reason that Obama was in India was to sell American wares and the No 1 list of his agenda was the $10.1 Billion MMRCA deal apart from future contracts on India's Nuclear Power generation program.
India on the other hand too has always lobbied the US on H1Bs and overall outsourcing issue and the deliberate maligning of Indian outsourcing companies was responded to with a warning by India that the US will be seriously disadvantaged in its other trade with India should US politicians continue to target Indian IT companies and IT engineers particularly.
This was clear in the Doha talks starting in 2007 and later years in where India chose to bring specifically the H1-B visa issue always , although the Doha talks might not have been the right forum to bring such issues. ( see link below )

You have 2 H1s, can you do that. Are you working full time on both H1b visas. Please eloborate on that.

Two H-1B's are possible if you can do two jobs. Most of the ppl file a concurrent H-1B for a part time job so you have one H-1B for full time job and the other for a part time job. The US CIS will approve a concurent H-1B for part time job for as little as 15 hours a week. Now if you want to file the second H-1B too for a full time job and have the physical ability to work for 80 hours a weeks then US CIS won't have any problems with that.
