While your concern is genuine, our experience says it is not that easy to remove country quota with a 2 line bill. IV will advocate for it, but understand that it will not happen in isolation and it is not feasible in an isolated bill.
In the current economic environment, removing country quota seems like the only argument that can fly, since it does not increase actual visas.

I know most of you are EB2 but hey I am happy that EB3 finally moved to 2004 now I just am waiting for it to go to june 2005 and I just might get my card ;-)

You guys won't believe how glad I am to read a few posts here where some people are standing up for themselves and refusing to take bullshit from certain lousy employers. This will send a message to those kinds of employers that they can't use the immigration system and treat employees like shit while continuing to profit from these hard-working people.

I am in the same boat and have lost my sleep. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and my lawyer definitely did not have time to get the employment letter from my wife's employer.
Our attorney has also signed on our behalf in rush to file the 485 before the July 2nd deadline :mad:
Please can someone say with authority whether it is needed or not needed?

You are constantly and unjustly attacked - You are attacked by anti-immigrants who not only spread outrageously false rumors such as "High-skilled immigrants don't pay taxes" or "High-skilled immigrants lower wages" but also dismiss your contributions to the U.S. economy like patents, opening world-leading companies, etc etc by not acknowledging them. 2) Mr. Change alone don't have to do something about it? he can direct his DHS and CIS people to do their jobs.. just because economy of economy is bad that does not mean people stop eating food.
3) We and institutions like IV needs to come up with agenda to lift this country quota ban (at least to eliminate this huge backlog)

Isn't there a limit of 27% of visas per quarter per country per calendar year ? If that limit is there then who will take precedence ? Quarterly Spill over or that limit ?
To me I think DOS is doing 27% quota limit for first 3 quarters then they are doing spill over so there is no quarterly spill. What if they will show us that there is a limit per quarter in law and they have to follow it. Is it something like deadlock. that trying to follow one law breaks another one.
What if we end up getting response that there is some action needed from Lawmakers to correct law..

Driver License issued till 2007 were not based on immigration [i797 or I94], I was issued driver license for 7 years...
Now a days DMV is asked for I-94 and I 797 or EAD card validity at the time of License renewal....
Tax return documents are also not a reflection of your immigration status or validity.
Many of us get confused on Visa Stamp on passport and Immigration status.
Visa Stamp is to let anyone cross the border and I-797 is a document which tells your immigration status. I might have a expired Visa on my passport but have a valid I-797.
If anyone asks you about Immigration Status it is advisible to show I-797 rather then anything else.

we could do that. Remember Pres: Clinton was impeached once.. As an organization our main problem is money. People often visit here to find a remedy for their proble, or to get some information. But the contributing members are very less. If we have right resources and right reasons we can bring anyone to their knees

We do not need any Congress approval for that Right?

On the contrary, under the current system immigrants from all nations do not have an equal opportunity to apply for a green card. Immigrants from the retrogressed countries are at an unfair disadvantage.
It is easy to see: A guy from ROW and a guy from India both are equally qualified engineers who have a EB2 PD of Jan 2008. The guy from ROW can apply to adjust status now, but the guy from India cannot apply until five years from now. That doesn't tell me that both immigrants have an equal opportunity.
Both immigrants would have had an equal opportunity if both could apply for GC at the same time. Once you have entered the country, have been gainfully employed, and your immigrant petition has been approved, how does it matter whether you came from India, china or Timbuktu? Your employer needs you for your skills, not your place of birth. Do you resolve your day to day office problems with your birth certificate pasted to your forehead?
Regarding your argument on diversity:
You need to understand that the country cap (set up 50 years ago) was NOT set up to give all countries an equal shot at sending EB immigrants to the US. The cap was based and an already existing xenophobic tendency (formally expressed way back in 1924) and the desire to retain the cultural and racial character of the US of '65. Among other things, the US has become more accommodating to people of different cultural identities. Economically, the US is in need of more high skilled people than ever before. This is an irreversible trend, where the US of today is more interested in who you are and what you bring to the table than what you look like. If a few thousand Indians or Chinese are given the green card, based on their SKLLS, it will not alter the racial and cultural character of 300000000 Americans (that's 300 followed by six zeros). Rather it will only make it richer.
Usually politicians work in reactionary mode – they will espouse an idea once it is obvious that they can’t do without it. The fact that discussion to remove country caps in EB has come up in the congress means that the American people have already written it off as an absurd idea.

The thread subject is "when do you plan to buy a house?"
I decided to buy due to economic conditions at the time, not my immigration status.
This means I also pay considerable property taxes.
Hopefully the 292 votes so far will be sufficient for WSJ et al.

And who do you think is going to process the paperwork for illegals? ... guess again, the same agency that is processing for Legal would-be-could-be immigrants. So how is it not going to increase processing time which would ultimately result in further delay?
Moreover, it doesn't matter wether their is delay or not. Simply, putting illegals in front of legals is ethically, morally and legally wrong!!
