I'm getting a little anxious for iWork '07. Hopefully we'll finally get a spreadsheet program.
Me too. I really hope Apple kicks iWork up a notch and makes it commercial grade in terms of speed and lack of bugs, and adds in the missing features.
iWork has the potential to be brilliant. I'd love to dump MS Office once and for all. I'm there with Keynote, and with a very, very solid upgrade with Pages, I'll be able to dump Word.

I tried to include the .h file through #import <Fraction.h> directive but I get compiler error "No such file ore directory".
Look in your book for exactly what you're supposed to use for #import. You may have made a mistake.
I'm not sure, but #import <Fraction.h> seems wrong to me. If Fraction.h were a system-provided class, it would be correct. But it's a developer-created class, so #import "Fraction.h" seems more sensible to me, and is what I've always used when referring to class headers I create.
I am sure that there are no compilation errors in the Fraction.h and Fraction.m.

Its now 9.50 and the queue is forming well infront of the Apple store,touchwood. I have heard rumours abound that white models are limited and iPad stock isn't as many here as the bigger london stores, so if your planning to be a late comer cancelled your meetings, leave work early or just cry off ill, because your going to be waiting in line a long time and your going to be very angry if stock has gone. people started turning up near 6.30am and the line is getting bigger.

It could mean that, or it could mean they just haven't updated the graphite versions of the buttons/loading bars/etc yet. I would love to see them offer more color options, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being just blue and graphite again. :o

How is this thread ridiculous? Is someone on here already tried any of those and it didn't work or did work. Perhaps they can share with us. Nothing ridiculous about it.

The thread is ridiculous because this question is asked almost everyday on the forum. All you had to do is a small amount of searching and there would have been no need for this thread.
There is only a small amount of hackers working on the iPad 2 jailbreak, if and when it comes out it will be big news on a forum like this. While apparently the moderators and administrators don't mind posts like this, they do get somewhat tiresome since the information you're looking for is less than a minute away with the use of the search button or reading top threads.

By coincidence, I set my first MobileMe calendar event alert just yesterday. I was adding events for 2011 to my calendar and I decided to specify an alert, not sure if that meant simply that it would sync with iCal on my Mac and pass the alert instructions along. Now I know that I'll get alerts in MobileMe too.
I wonder what happens if you are not logged into MobileMe at the time the alert should be sent but you log in after that and before the event itself. Do you get all pending alerts when you log in?

Any comments about the battery life?
Hard for me to say. I've only charged it twice since xmas. I only have 2GB card (22 mins at 720P 60hz). The battery is more than enough to fill that up a few times.
The anti shake feature works really well and is probably the main reason the footage is better than the Iphone 4.

Pretty pathetic.... when that happened to us, we bought a used one.. if you buy from a store, they'll provide some kind of warranty in many cases... we've had used ones last longer than new ones.

So I go to Best Buy to pick up the 4gb 360 slim. Low and behold they don't have it, all they have is the stupid 4gb Kinect bundles or the 250gb holiday bundle. They have stacks upon stacks of these goddamn bundles, but no stand-alone 4gb systems. Next stop, Target. Same story there, Kinect and holiday bundles galore, but no stand-alone systems. Next stop Wal-Mart, same story. Next Stop Meijer, same stupid story. Finally I go to Gamestop, and guess what only Kinect and Holiday bundles.
To say that I am pissed right now is a major understatement. Why do they have to stock all of these stupid *********g bundles? No one wants the damn things. Use MacTubes (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/28608/mactubes) to play Youtube videos and use the G4 optimized MPlayer (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1129727) to play videos that are already on your computer.
You'll see an incredible difference.
MacTubes allows you to play Youtube videos with Quicktime, and you can also download any video. You can set MacTubes to play videos in Safari, just go to preferences>player, and choose video player under 'player type'.
And if you're not already using one of these, I would recommend TenFourFox (http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/) or Camino (http://caminobrowser.org/) as your main browser.

Okay then, it seems like from what I'm hearing I'll go for the Elite. Not thrilled about it being black (I like white stuff, I guess), but I think the HDMI is worth it.
P.S. Does anybody have any idea when the 65nm chips will come out? Because I'm not planning to buy my Xbox until this summer, so I hope they have 65nm chips then.

I posted this question in an older thread but realized that the topic was somewhat different.
Here is my problem.
I am in the process of migrating my iPhoto pictures over to Aperture. Because I have close to 100k pictures and short clips, I can not import my entire 500 GB library at once because I don't have enough hard drive space to support both iPhoto and Aperture libraries at the same time. I also thought it might make sense to not have one gigantic library. Also I would like to have my old photos separated by years, and I don't know if Aperture would do this if I imported the entire iPhoto library (which does only separate them by events) at once. So it appears to me that the only import method that would work (please correct me if this is wrong) would be to open the "Masters" directory of iPhoto in the Finder, and drag and drop each year's directory into the "Projects/Library" panel in Aperture. Note that I do not want any editing information preserved from iPhoto, so using the Masters seems to be the most space efficient thing. So far so good but there appear to be at least two big snags. Firstly the yellow projects folders within each blue years folder in Aperture are not in chronological but in alphabetical order and I can't find out how to fix this. Secondly (and much more importantly) the dates on many old photos have been altered in an apparent random manner during the import into Aperture! Therefore they do appear in the wrong locations in my events library, according to the altered date. There are many too many photos that have been changed to undo this manually (I estimate it would take several weeks to do this).
But how and why could this have happened in the first place?
I also noticed that even when I change the dates of the Aperture masters to the true ones (by comparing to the masters in iPhoto), they still remain in the same wrong location in my Projects/Events library, according to the date originally (and falsely) assigned by Aperture.
There surely has to be a way to import photos into Aperture without ruining their date stamp?

Indeed. I just spent 3-4 hours restoring my phone after updating to 4.3.2. I will update whence iOS 5 doth show itself.

EDIT: This stil won't work because the only way to run this utility is AFTER the Setup Assistant finishes; I've never tried deleting the .AppleSetupDone file to re-run the setup assistant after al the relevant updates have been installed.Ahh true.
Although starting from a fresh state, doing the software installs and updates and then just cleaning up the little bit created is easier than trying to clean up everythig the person might've created already.
Another possibility is for lbodnar to do the OS Install and software restore. And then sit there with the friend while the friend goes through the registration and stuff and let the friend see how the software update works. And if anything else needs to be installed..do it then. Make it a full experience for the friend.
