Keep in mind that it is higly likely that DOS has changed its strategy of releasing visa numbers starting this year. Previously, they would release numbers per quarter. But this time, from all accounts it appears they have moved away from that model to improve USCIS efficiency. They may have released almost all of the annual quota by now.

Check the Feb 2007 visa bulletin where they made EB2 India Unavailable as the annual quota was over. It came back again only because there was spillover from ROW.
Based on this, it is very unlikely that there will be much forward movement in July.
if they did what u say they did.. they violated the law. thats what gotcher is talking about. plus using up 140k visas without a substantial impact being seen on the forums is highly unlikely.
last year in june and july when they issued 60k visas there was huge spike in approvals and it was seen on the forums/on /IV/ immigration portal.
there has not been such an observed event this year. the reason eb2 india went to U was because they had used up the quota associated with per country caps and the category and quarter sub quotas.
what we are seeing now/ will see in this fiscal year will be spill over visas. where it occurs is anybody's guess.

1. Would you be happy if I say it is not legal for consulate to ask for such documentation?

4. They should cancel all documentation requirements?
Anyways....I earn 64k per year and I want to take benefit of the mortagage crisis and buy a 900k home. I want the banks to continue with their past practice of providing cheap loans with no down-payment and not a lot of documentation. Would that be a valid demand?

As software engineers what do we do when we find defects during testing or post production stage? Do we fix it or we try allow it continue?

I'm not sure anything happens with these letters etc. We need something more concrete, something that grabs attention. Last time we did the flower campain, this time we need to do something different again. My idea was the two cents campaign (link in sig). But I'm sure you all have your ideas too and if we can come up with something unique that would be great. We need something more than just letters to the whitehouse. Maybe we can pick just one senator each week or each month or congressman who does not support legal immigration bills and send letters to him/her in co-ordination. If one person gets 1000 letters on the same day about a topic it might make the news?
definitely ..and I am sure lot of people agree ..flowers, marching etc is much better ..but till we get to that point ..let us send emails / letters atleast ...something better than nothing !!

Yeah if the restriction was for non immigrants none of their "special" buddies from gulf states like UAE, Saudi, Kuwait etc would be able to visit.
Many of those " special buddies" would have diplomatic passports, hence no inspection at the POE
But i think you can not practice polygamy or bring multiple spouse to the US on non immigrant visa

Guys give it a couple of days. You'll start getting the receipts soon. Yes they are working on July 2 plus before July 2 mail. In another couple of days all their personnel will be working full time on the hundreds of thousands applications mailed in July. So be patient. It will happen....

I agree with you. I had also brought to the attention of the moderators about the restraint they need to exercise while closing threads.
Let people discuss about the visa movement dates as long as it doesn't harm/hurt others. Discussing/predicting visa dates is not against the wishes of the larger immigrant community as long as anti-social acts like betting is involved.
I again request the moderators to exercise their power with proper reasoning. If 1000 people wants a thread closed, it is not a proper reason for closing it.
I normally don't post predictions. But I read it sometimes. They will be a few people who post genuine opinions. Their views are sometimes helpful!

I dont understand why we are hurt when 2 Indian companies were asked to detail how they used the nearly 20000 H1B visas they procured this time. DAMNN!!! IT IS VERY VERY IMP TO KNOW THAT. How many of these H1s are going to be brought here and sold to other companies, how much and WHO pays them etc.
We are hurt because it's witch hunting. Nobody knows who applied for how many visas this year, but rumor has it that Microsoft was also near the top. Why not call them also?
Do you realize how many biotech companies couldn't hire people this time just because these monsters gobbled up all the H1s:mad: :mad:
That just means these "monsters" are more desperate to hire talented people than the companies you are talking about. Rationing is not an answer here. This is not a communist country. More supply is the answer.
H1 is tailormade to boost the american economy and I firmly believe (just as any other country would wisely do) that the first preferance should be for US companies, OK.
What is a US company? Infosys is listed here. Americans own stocks in most public companies around the world. US has no laws that discriminate against foreign companies. That's why US economy is still rated the most competitive in the world. You want to be more restrictive... What next? Get rid of inter state commerce laws?
If the senators are wise, they will and they should, make it sure this time that this never happens in future. Regarding software, I firmly believe, as somebody mentioned earlier, that they also need to start small training centers everywhere. I dont say that there are not good professionals comming in, but believe me, all those so called mca, pgdca etc etc Man!! some of them even dont know the basics of computer!!
Have you heard "market driven"? If I want to pay my janitor $100/hr why should I have to answer to anybody? Companies hire these people because they find them valuable assets. Who cares if they have mca, pgdca or kjshdj.

Should I still select the below mentioned option ?
'Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing' is what I should select for AP inquiry?

I have EAD approval notice but no card yet. SO I need to get another infopass for EAD eslecting'EAD inquiry Appoinmetn' option ?
