Hey guys I'm new to this jailbreaking thing and had question and I hope one of you iPhone wizards can help me out. I was wondering if I am running on 3.1.3 firmware right now(my iPhone is currently jailbroken) if I were to update my firmware would I lose the jailbreak?? Would it unjailbreak my phone with a firmware update? I really don't want to try and re jailbreak it, will I have to or would the iPhone still remain jailbroken even if I update?? Help would be much appreciated guys!! Thank you in advance

Yes every time you restore or update you lose your JB and everything installed. You have to rejailbreak and install your stuff again.

I liked it quite a bit - it would be nice, too, if Apple could figure out a way to show off its operating system (although that would be nearly impossible to do in 30 seconds!)

Don't know about you guys but I have decided to order my new iPad online this morning at 5am and then take my chances at the store today. When I places my order it said 2-3 weeks which is a bit scary!! I went for the 32gb 3G in black with the grey smart cover (yes I know I'm boring) let me know whether you have taken the same route and also whether you hear from Apple on shipping. I will hopfully be heading out to Covent Garden this afternoon to try to get my hands on one.... ATB Nick

For now - in MAC OS X 10.6.7, I have found the answer.
The answer is: the parental controls. When parental controls are off then, the IMac will fall asleep.

I like instrumentals a good bit, though there aren't really any bands I like that are dedicated to it (I should check out Explosions in the Sky sometime, shouldn't I?).

This is one of the best run and gun camera stabilizers that doesn't require you to balance and take a lot of time to learn how to use it... I even use it from time to time with my hvx 2000. Log into another fresh account. Make sure it works there. Then delete your actual account's finder preferences. That should do it.

Ok, so I decided to buy SL 10.6 and a new HDD, but does anyone know if I have to first setup the new drive with the original disks 10.5 that came with the uMB, or can I just use SL 10.6? I also have the application disk with iLife 09 which I know I can instal after the OS.
When Apple sells SL do they include any other drivers and software so that I can just install using the SL disk?
Trying to make sure I am clear in what I am stating only because I do not want to have to load the original discs.

4.3.1 didn't bring much but 4.3 brought improvements on AirPlay, safar, added home sharing options, iPad sloder switch option, and added the hotspot feature.

Where on earth can I find them other than eBay? I need the following...
� display bezel
� backlight inverter board
� aluminum access panel(the one on the bottom that you remove to take it apart)
� power cable
Obviously I'd be willing to purchase a parts iMac if the price were right and it had what I need.

I purchased it 2 yrs ago is 8GB ok ? 2009 btw
And will it work even if i use more than 6GB of the 8GB? Will it lag?

Thanks! Your answer helped. So now I know that <**> are only for system provided classes. I used quotes for Fraction.h and it worked.
The example that I used had everything dumped in the main .m file along with the main function.
I'm glad you got it working, but please be specific in the future about what you did, and what the book told you to do. Accuracy is important in programming. Books are specific about what to do because the author knows what works and what doesn't, and has given accurate instructions on what to do that works.
If you're working from a book, and they show you what to put into a file, you should put exactly that into a file. So if your book showed you to put everything dumped into the main.m file, then that's what you should do.
However, if they showed you something else, then dumping everything into a single main.m file is asking for trouble, because you don't know all the consequences of what you're doing.
If the book showed "Fraction.h", then that's what you should use. If they showed <Fraction.h> and it didn't work, then that's an error in the book.
Do not make changes to what a book tells you unless you fully understand what the consequences are. And if you're a beginner, then almost by definition, a beginner does not fully understand all the consequences. If you did understand all the consequences, you wouldn't be a beginner.

Ditched my 17" HP and my Dell Desktop when I got my 15" MBP. I tried juggling different laptops and what not but it got to be kind of a pain. I do everything on my MBP now and along with the 1TB backup drive and countless cloud storage accounts, I'm pretty good with my setup now. That and I have about 10 USB keys so the important data I need will always come with me.

I've had no issues with SL like you're describing, including the applications you've mentioned. Remember that crashing issues may or may not be related to the OS... there's as good a chance of the software application in question being at fault as SL.

Even my 24" iMac 1920 X 1200 powers a second 24" monitor @ 1920 X 1200.
22" @ 1600 x 1080 is even fewer.

Publicity really boosts these auctions. They're easy to miss if you're not paying attention the week the auction is on.
If you hadn't mentioned it maybe nobody would have noticed and you could have got it for the $100 reserve as the only bidder!

Ok I have been a PC/windows user since I was 10 and my mom brought home our first PC (a 486) in 1993. I have never used anything else mostly due to the fact I wasn't in charge if buying. However in the past year I have had a 2 year old Dell that had it's motherboard go out. A compaq laptop who's hdd went to crap, and now an Asus UL30a that for whatever reason wants to completely freeze in the middle of typing up documents and editing images and always seems to have it's auto-save feature fail in the process.
So here's my questions for all you Mac guys out there:
How is security on a Mac as opposed to a PC?
Is it easy to keep files and programs organized and easily accessible?
How is the "ease of use" for a Mac beginner? I wanna be able to get it and go! Just like with my iPhone.
And my number one priority, how dependable will my Mac be in 2,4,and 10 years down the line if I can't just go and get another one?
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. And thank you in advance b
