Even if its multiplied by 100 we should be ok, if the USCIS does a good of not waisting visas by doing their best in the month of Sep. Say we have 6500 * 2 .25 (Family) = 15000people waiting from EB2 2004. Looking at the spillover numbers from last year, we might be lucky enough. Just trying to be optimistic for the next 35 days.
We received our 2nd biometric appointment notice for Sep 11th. Our Notice date is Sep 19th 2007. Just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for something good. :)

My Wife's I-140 RD is May 9th 2007 and it was filed at Nebraska center.
Online Case status says that this case was transferred from Nebraska Center to Texas center in end of april 2008. So now this case will be processed using the original Reciept date or it will have a reciept date when this case was transferred? Current processing date is way past then her original RD.
We have to file for her H-1 B Extension and it is critical to get I-140 so that we can extend it for 3 years instead of one year.
Please let me know if someone has any info...
Technically it should be your original receipt date , thats means your wife 140 should be processed now but guess what that happens only if TSC finds your wifes file , not sure where the tranfer cases are stored , If they use computer they will definetly find the case but looks like they find the cases by boxes ... I am not saying that it is working on the USCIS. We dont know yet coz the flowers start reaching there tommorow. If it is working on USCIS, we would know by the end of the week. Not now.

If you are past 180 days after filing 485 you can change jobs using H1b transfer or EAD. If you use EAD it does not matter if it is profit or non profit.
Your new employer can send letter in any format, but 99% chances that your AC21 will never reach your file - because there is no system in place for it. USCIS treat AC21 letter as response to an RFE - so if you change job you are fine - make sure you update your address on file so that if they send an RFE, you can respond to it, always use a lawyer for everything. In case your ex employer requests USCIS to revoke your 140 then you may get a NOID which is also treated as an RFE. A lot of Visa Officers do not know about AC21 portability - I met one such officer during Infopass and she had no clue about it - may send a denial on 485 - in such cases your case can be reopened through MTR.
You may not even get an RFE at times and things could just be as fine. Hope this helps.

Well said.. we, who have not yet made up our minds, have no excuse NOT to support IV.
Right now, there are several things we all can do:
1) write to congressman/woman
2) meet congressman/woman
3) Join Team IV fitness/fund raising group
4) Contribute in the current funding drive
5) Become active and then tell your friends to do the same.
Why are we discussing this subject when it will do nothing to take us closer to getting the GC? In almost each social event, I have heard this subject being talked by my fellow friends. But discussing it on IV forum does not serve much purpose.
To me, it seems in the conversations about this subject (not just this thread, even in social events), each person is trying to find a group of people that agree to his or her thoughts. That makes the group then feel better. But what do we all do the next day, pray that we get the GC fast. People who want to really go back to their country do not take much part in these discussions. They just pack up and go.
If we are spending any time on IV, it should be focussed on our effort to get the GC. Or to help someone of us facing an immigration related issue.

We have several sprinkled threads on AP Renewals so this is an effort to create a thread which can capture all AP Renewal Questions & Concerns.
To begin with, i have posted the following question in one of the other AP-threads but did not get much response. So lets beging with clarifying this issue - Gurus please give your 2 cents on this aspect.

Can some of experienced guyes answer my question about the DISABILITY INSURANCE.
Some of you guys looks like confusing DISABILITY RIDER in the TERM/WHOLE policy with DISABILITY INSURANCE.
DISABILITY INSURNACE will pay for (in Most case 60% of the last salary) if you become PERMANENTLY DISABLED and can not work up to the age of 62 or 65. After that SS will pay for you.
DISABILITY RIDER that you have with extra cost in the LIFE INSURANCE policy cancel payment requirement of your Life Insurance policy. So If you become Disabled You WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY PREMIUM for your TERM/WHOLE Life policy and still it will be effective.
Because of my one of the diseases I am always worried about DISABILITY insurance.
I always try to get Short term and Long Term disability insurances through employer.
But the problem is they always start with long preexisting exlusions and when you change jobs they dont continue so have to start new one which also has other new preexisting exlusions to start.
You can convert your longterm disability to the personal policy if you have that for long time. but they are not valid if you get new job.
Is there any private/personal (not employer sponsored) Short and long term DISABILITY Insurance policies that we can purchase out side of the job.? How are the premiums? Are they reliable?
also do any of you know case where LIFE INSURANCE was actually paid and how easy/hard the process was for family?
Also similar experiences if some one know if any one used DISABILITY INSURANCE and how hard it was?

I am in a similar situation. I applied for my first LC based on Skilled employee (Category 3) because my first job financial analyst only required a bechelor degree even though I have a masters degree then I filed for the I-140 (priority date May 2005). then I got a promotion to a senior financial analyst which requires a masters degree. so I automatically could apply file a second LC to file under (category 2 which is current). however my cecond LC was denied because the DOL thinks that there is no difference between the 1 job (financial analyst) and the second job (senior financial analyst) with the same company. so I checked with my lawyer and he said that I can file for appeal so the DOL will review their decision and realize that it was wrong. I did file for appeal in Sep 2006 and I ve been waiting since then. does anybody know or have any idea how long the appeal normally takes so they can make a decision on my case?? please advise. Why don't you do this? Try to search just for your employer - and once you have a bunch of cases filed by your employer, go ahead and narrow yours down based on Priority Date.
I do have the Employer and Attorney details. I searched based on that. Reg, case number, which case number we have to use, the backlog center number or any other number? I do have a copy of the approval letter received from backlog center.
Let me know what else I can do?

Shoplifting does not divide EB population. But if you open a thread to pitch EB3 against EB2 then I think he should be banned. I can click the red triangle on top of post to report it because I do not think anyone in IV or any senior member has time to waste all day reading every post and deleting them.

I don't think EAD/H1b should matter for the loan application, but all these depends on loan agent and bank policy. I took loan from Bankofamerica without any problem.
PMI Vs 20% down payment, this is tough decision. If you want to play safe game till you get GC 5% down paymnet is better. In case if you have enough savings and planning to stay in that house for long time not it's not a wise decision to pay PMI.
