I do not know how to delete OS 9 that came preinstalled with my iBook 700. I have no use for OS 9 and it's just taking up space on my hard drive. I tried to just drag the OS 9 system folder to trash but even after setting permissions it still said it's being used by the system and could not be deleted. Can anyone tell me how to delete it?

Are you hosting Apache on port 8080? You could just set up a virtual server at *.:80 and any requests to there could be re-directed to the virtual server on *.:8080.
Otherwise I can't think of a way to handle it from something other than the receiving application layer.

Thanks in advance.
Aren't there just some springy clips that you need to push in on either side of the rear, then you just pull up on the cover (from very distant memory and corroborated by this instructable http://www.instructables.com/id/Replace-an-Apple-IIGS-clock-battery/).
Remove the cover. You already know how to do this–just push in the locking buttons located on either side of the back of the case, and pull up gently on the cover.
EDIT: You just have to love the internet: http://www.apple-iigs.info/doc/fichiers/iigshardref.pdf

Yeah the buttons at the bottom of that window are the ones.
Wow, they've completely changed the "about this Mac" screen for the first time in Mac OSX. Its looks way better, and you no longer need to go into the system profiler to get basic stats, or use iStat Pro. Wow...:D Can NOT wait to get Lion!

Can you still see all your RAM? Is there anything running in the background like Seti@Home and so on?

 Ok then. Diskradar says my disk is excellent, however it has had bad sectors before resulting in lockups and dataloss. It also doesn't let you run disk tests.
Ok, try Disktools Pro - you can run tests with that program.. or if you want REAL TIME diagnostics(something Apple lacks), run the drive diagnostics under windows 7 or boot into Hiren's disk utilities - there it will tell you if your disk is truly bad or warped.

You're right in a way. You can use the Linksys and extend via ethernet to the AP express to extend it. OR... you can buy 2 APEs and have one be the WIFI.. and then the 2nd one would just extend from the 1st one. It's super easy to setup with the software on the mac!

i think the biggest hurdle to leap over to run panther, are the graphic card limitations of the older machines. stuff like the cube user switching and expose are going to be cpu and graphic card intensive. do you think those older machines would be able to handle those?

i have one and their color clarity and crispness is better than the new cinema displays and is definetely one of the best on the market. Recommended.
I need to buy a monitor for a powerbook and saw a few companies selling new, in the box 17" Apple Studio Displays online. The price is about $450. I have always loved the look of that monitor, but am wondering how well they stack up with today's monitors. In addition, I believe for the same price I could get 19" - so I am torn. Any advice?

I've gotten a g4 imac power supply off ebay before without any hassle but it could be a crapshoot. It seems like these guys sell imac parts- http://www.mac-pro.com/Mac-Pro-Online-Store/G4-iMac-Parts-and-Accessories

I'm waiting to see if it's region free.
I plan on buying one from Play-asia with Dance Central, Kinectimals, Joy Ride & Kinect Sports as Asian version is only 28 as opposed to 50 here. USA version's are region free - so I'm hopeful.
Though i also bought Playstation Move = that's pretty much doing nothing with my Wii for company at the moment.

Personally, I let the phone drop to 0% and then recharge it to 100%. You really don't HAVE to, but some recommend it.
When the iPhone reaches 100% charge, it will not accept any more - so, no, it's not bad to keep it plugged in.
Thanks, if you don't mind, I do have one last question. I have been trying to figure out if when I turn my phone off all the way, will it charge so I have turned it on and off a few times. Is this in any way bad for my battery or phone? Thanks :D

A neat addition to the website, but i think its a little bit late, granted the mini only came out less than a year ago, but that stuff has been out there for a while.

This is not an exploit, although it is not functioning as most people expect it to.
As has been discussed in other threads before, the login panel uses an old UNIX DES login encryption method. This system has always recognized a maximum of 8 characters, no matter how long your password is.
Hopefully in Panther, Apple will use one of the other, better encryption methods for the default login.

I would suggest this could be the problem: when you reposition you are probably altering the distance between the lens and the subject somewhat.
Agree with robbie, with that shallow a DOF when you reposition if you're off a little the focus might change. Try using a DOF of 4 and see what happens. Your bokeh effect will obviously be different but you may have more consistent pictures. FWIW

Simple, play dumb. Claim it was there when you got it.
And that's exactly what's wrong with society these days.
Man or woman up and take responsibility for YOUR screw up.

Go back to the store with an AT&T Wireless phone and press *ID (*43) and hold the phone up to the headphones for 15 sec and it will text message you the name/artist of the song.
I hadn't heard of this either. Thanks for the tip. I just tried it and on my AT&T Wireless phone it is #43 not *43 :)
