Importing from Europe would be even more interesting. But I'm not sure that most of the cars built for their consumption meet U.S. emissions and crash testing standards. Therefore, obtaining registration would probably be unduly difficult.
Of course, if you want to drive your diesel on a private race track, or just up and down your driveway (read: off of public thoroughfares), you'll have no trouble whatsover.

kainjow is interesting - didn't even know about him. How did you know he was earlier than you? He's been here longer and had only 50 posts in over 3 years!

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if anyone remembers me from back when the mid-2010 iMacs launched, but I purchased one, and despite loving the system, I ended up having to return it due to having a lot of eye strain while using it for even five minutes. With the new iMacs having been launched today, I decided to pick up a new one to attempt to adjust to the screen again, as I really, REALLY loved the system, and I hated being back on a Windows machine.
I'm not certain why, but I'm having next to no issues this time around; I've been using the system nearly non-stop for the last two hours, and I've had very minimal eyestrain compared to last year's model! Absolutely NOTHING has changed whatsoever with my vision or lighting conditions in my PC room.
Was something possibly changed with the displays for this release that has alleviated my issues almost entirely? If so, I'm certainly not complaining. :) And hopefully those other individuals besides myself that were having the same issues previously will be able to use the new iMacs with relative ease, as well!

To be quite honest, Time Machine leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to error reporting when something goes wrong. I feel your frustration because I had the same problem a few months ago. I've found that looking at the console helps to determine what error occurred and then searching Google to see what the error means, and how to fix it. I think you can find the console in the utilities folder somewhere - can't exactly remember where it is.
My problem with Time Machine was that my disk permissions were screwed up and so it wasn't copying the files nessessary to complete the back up - it would just quit. I would check to see if those were set correctly by going into info and reseting them. Might help.

I knew this was coming - Java 6u20 has security issues that this update addresses, albeit later than I hoped for. I hope this does not break my existing Java apps.

The iMac is getting ready to be refreshed. Should be sandy bridge processors. The mini will follow, since it uses the same parts, not long after the iMac. Your decision will depend on what your going to use it for.

How are you plugging them in? If you can get the guitar to work, every thing else should. You should plug the line out from your keyboard to the audio inputs of your tascam. For the mic, it should go into the mic in.
As for returning it, it's not a bad idea. It sounds as though you just plugged things wrong if you can get it to record your guitar. But tascam interfaces are a pain in the ass. Really, I had the L version of the interface and it wouldn't work when I wanted it to. I had to reinstall the drivers countless times, plug and unplug it, restart my computer. And apparently, I'm not the only one to get all of those problem, there's a thread about in the board. They never release new drivers and usually the updates aren't that better. I just hope I can save you the trouble.

Yeah, seriously. Just keep your PC as well. You don't NEED to throw it out, although I wouldn't shed a tear if you did. ;)
For programs like MS Access, I can understand the need for VPC, but what graphics app is absolutely necessary on a PC? There must be a Mac equivalent. Oh, and VPC runs decently for everything other than graphics related apps (Photoshop or games).

Throw some games in the hat please guys!
I'm looking for a game to play under windows on my machine (see sig)
What are you all playing at the moment?
STALKER is coming out next week in the UK. I'm hoping it's going to be a Fallout-esque FPS. It's set in an area called the Zone, near Chernobyl. It's a bit of a mish mash of Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky and the Chernobyl incident. CVG has plenty of interviews and reviews with the developers.

Updated to version 1-1: Final correction. I repositioned the computer display to a better location which I wanted to do for quite a while and I also raised the level of the grids on the floor a little bit cause they were a tad too low.
Now the 3 variants that I did (I did an Apple an Atari and also an Amiga version of this design with different colors and illumination) have the computer display in the same position. These are the updated links (well actually only the direct link to the file in Mediafire changes):
Direct link Deviantart:

Again, in Deviantart if you want to see my whole folder with the other wallpapers of this series and my other free things:

There in Deviantart click on the Browse Gallery button if you want to see all the other things.

That's definitely a snail. It's hitched on that bug for a ride. It'll do that with any bug that is big enough to compensate for the the snails weight.

"The point" is that it's a professional machine for people who do professional work with it.
This could include Final Cut, Logic 9, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Zbrush, Modo, Maya, or any other heavyweight application that can truly utilize the power of 12 cores.
When you do this sort of stuff for a living, time is money. Being able to do stuff faster and twiddle your thumbs less just means that you'll probably be able to get more done and make more money.
It's not a machine for surfing the web and posting to Facebook. And that's the point.

I setup Time Capsule & Time Machine & it did a backup of my iMac. However, I don't think it did a backup of the Windows virtual machine on the iMac.
How do I setup the Time Capsule/Time Machine to backup the iMac & Windows virtual machine, & setup a separate partition for file sharing amongst the iMac, Macbook Pro, & Window virtual machine?
I'm new to the use of Time Capsule & Time Machine, so I hope I worded my question properly, & what I want to do makes sense.

I have a Digidesign Pro Tools Card, the Digi 001 and am thinking about upgrading to the G5, even though Digidesign hasn't "approved" the new machines yet (they still haven't approved the FW800 MDDs yet...)
But I read something about PCI-X slots and that they wont work with some older PCI cards, which types of cards won't work in a PCI-X slot? More specifically, would the Digi 001 work?

I will be going there right after work, which ends @ 5. Should be able to get to the Mall by 5:30 and have my 30 minutes of standing in line! haha
I personally don't expect too many people there, it's a rather small store (Oklahoma City Penn Square Mall).
But yeah, I also might be wrong.

Would it be possible to use a cookie to remember my choice of ordering my song list? i.e. if I choose to order by Genre, then the next time I view my list, it should remember to order the songs by Genre, and not the default Ranking.
Thanks.
Thanks.
