I am curious: What is Biographic page of Passport? Is it just the first page and the last page where you have all the info about you and home address etc...???
My understanding is that it is first 4 and last 4 pages. (here pages include the inner hard cover side ).

Instead of posting questions here, PLEASE send it to the email (legal_advise@immigrationvoice.org) with proper format (as mentioned by IV member "sertasheep" in starting of this thread like name, city/state, question....) so that it will be easier for IV team to compile your questions. Is it not needed for wife's case to be independently handled.

Nothing to worry - Receipt Notice(s) will be issued when they will be issued. We can do nothing about it. I'm in the same boat - My application was mailed on Jul 24th and received on Jul 25th. No news so far - My Lawyer says, we should wait another month or so...

Man you are in such a good position . I think with an approved I-140 in EB3 for Sep 2001 PD your GC should not be far away .. Don't mess around with it by changing it to EB2 or things like that. It might get complicated . I would say have patience for a few months . Once you get your GC you are free.
Using AC21 is not a bad idea for those whose GC is a distant dream but for you I think the goal is within sight.
Actually, it's better to change job before you get a GC because you suppose to have intention to work for GC-sponsoring company after you get GC.

Dear All..need expert guidance on my situation.
1) Company A. Approved I-140 and LC for more than 6 months in 2006
2) Took a Job with Company B. Concurrent filling of New I-140 , 485, EAD, AP (In July 2007), EAD and AP approved > 180 days. But still waiting for I-140..looks like it going to take some time.
3) Want to change to company �C�in similar area. Can I use AC21? Given that I have approved I-140 from company A, 485 from company B and want to move to company C ?
I assume answer is No but thought I will get some expert guidance.

I485 along with EAD and AP applications filed during July 02 for me and my family. Got EAD and AP. Used Company�s attorney to file my applications. I live in Michigan and all documents send to TSC. My I-485 is pending with TSC.
Renewed EAD and AP last year, again used the same attorney. That time they filed EAD and AP applications at NSC as per http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-765instr.pdf page 11
I am still on H1B and never used EAD and AP.
I am planning to file EAD and AP renewal now (paper filing), but this time on my own. My questions are:

My son is in custody and I am bonding him out this week;
ICE charged him deportable as a Aggrevated Felon becuase ;
He had a PETTY LARCENY in 2009 (misdemeanor) - orginal sentance to 60 days weekend intermittent jail and 3 years probation;
He violated probation and was given a year of weekends by the judge;
Now ICE are charging him as a AF saying he is deportable because his record shows 365 sentance for the petty larceny!!!
I an others disagree and that 'a year of weekends' is NOT a sentance of a year or a suspended year;
Any case files or history anyone - your answers are welcomed!

This is useful for those singles who have applied for green card but are worried about getting it before being married. And there appears to be quite a number of them.
Even if it is not useful for all those married green card applicants, this is a huge thing for the singles even if they are in the long Q. This is a long term solution for a section of the IV community. Because it is not useful to married doesn't mean that it is not relevant to IV community.
I have seen people who didn't apply during July fiasco though they are eligible just because they cannot bring the spouse if they get married. Absolutely it is relevant to all those singles out there in this community.

Is there anyone out there pursuing CP and already working in the USA?
In today's economy/job market, it is a nightmare not to have the protection of EAD.
Is there anyway we can get EAD for people in CP queue? Issuing EAD for those CP filers who are already in the US on work (H1B) VISA - is that even a possibility?
Any thoughts?
Looking at your PD it will take a while to get green card in either route. CP is great when dates are current so you can easily get GC . but when dates are not current AOS is good becasue dependetns can get EAD and also little more security than not having EAD.
CP is done by Dept of State ( Consular Post ) and AOS is by USCIS. They are totally different agency under umbrella of DHS. CP cannot get benefit of EAD.
For you it will not be easy to be in both place now. It will be option for person lets say like me whose date never became current and I when I filled I 140 I mentioned CP. I think it take 1 year to route your application to Consular post. so later if my dates become current and my application is not at consular ( Means I am not going to get interview ) I can file AOS. But person already have file CP for more than year then if dates become current he / she will get interview.
For mumbai consulate there is option for AC I 140. where consular accept Attorney certified copy of I 140. So if I believe that my PD will become current in coming 2-3 months then I can file I 824 and ask to route my I 140 to Mumbai for CP. which takes 1 year atleast to finish . but in meanwhile my date become current I can take receipt notice of I 824 and go with attorney certified copy of I 140 and they can grant me visa. But it needs very sound planing of when date become current. ( Which is not possible in current environment ). If dates are current for a long time CP is good.

Question is when was the application posted. 11 th july seems to be the date they processed the application. Not necessarily the recpt date.

Labor certification approved - march 2007
Applied I140 and I485 concurrently during the July 2007 fiasco (July 17th 2007 ... to be precise)
Used Cross-chargeability and crossed to EB3 ROW, so my priority date became current
I140 approved: Sept 08
GC Approved: Oct 08.
I dont know if cross-chargeability matters, but the main thing is that when my I485 was approved in Oct 08 the processing time was still showing June 2007 (roughly first week of june 2007), which is more than 1 month behind. And also the processing time was stuck on june 2007 for few months.

You cant file H1 on your own. You need ur employers signature on it and ur employer has to file the petition. Even if you beat all that it is still very very risky to file on your own.
I am not filing on my own, I am trying to just do the paper work on my own and try to save unnecessary attorney fees. Of course my employer is going to sign the forms.

but in his case, he jumped to EAD (lost his nonimmigrant status temporarily) and is trying to jump back to H1 status.
See the thin is as far as the status goes I believe one is not on Immigrant status unless one gets the GC; and their are only two statuses, Immigrant and Non-Immigrant for us (or I guess illegal, which we are not for sure)!!
So do you think using EAD gives a person an Immigrant status in turn losing his non-immigrant status?
