I had EAD from Aug 2007 to July 2008 which i never used. Now i would like to get EAD again. Should i file it as renewal or applying for a new one? TIA

I called USCIS regardng my I-140 approval notice and I was told that "It normally takes upto 30 days to receive any approval/receipt notices". Hope it helps!

even if the bill passes ,we r not getting much relief if in eb3.we should be trying for a amendment to remove country cap or file i-485.time is slipping from our hand s though and only lobbyist can do anything at this point

I don't think you read his question- He/She wanted to know if the FP can be done in an American Consulate General in India if he gets his FP notice while he/she is in India.
Does anyone know of this situation and if any consulate in India can do the FP?
If you get your FP notice while in the US go to the ceter any day at 7.45 am before the center opens and request the staff to do the FP.They generaly oblige.I did it in Los Angeles.

this is just like what people talk about IRS. I got packet in mail asking to contact immediatly field officer at local office regarding 2006 tax returns. Thinking worst, I didn't even go beyond subject line and everybody I talked or told, scared me to death. Finally, I mustered up courage to go line-by-line. Didn't understand what they were talking about and neither did the notice had my name or SSN. So left with no-choice, called IRS and found that documents were for previous resident!
Lession for me (and all) ... if you haven't done anything wrong intentially, their is nothing to be afraid about.

I had spoken to couple of Attorneys and they have told me that H1B will done with in two weeks this year. Therefore, anyone looking to apply, get your ducts lined up.. There is not much time left..

I am not a lawyer but was involved in something similar.
C can take you to court and stop you from being hired by vendor. It will be very difficult for them to push for damages etc. but thye can bring a stop on your hiring.
If C is a small desi consultant the chances are dim he will come after you. But if he is reasonably sized with lawyers within the company, you mgiht get a notice. You can take a chance, but usually the lawyer fees etc might not be worth the effort.
Your other option is to have your vendor buy you out - which means the vendor pays an X amount to C, and that frees you up from any contracts/non-competes.

I went for H1B stamping, but i know a friend of mine went for F1 (PhD) extension and had to go through the same process. I called Dept. of State multiple times, dont expect a polite response. They may even say it may take years. Thats what they told me the day before i got the visa. Dont worry your wife will get the visa eventually. Tell her to enjoy India in the mean time like i did on my forced vacation.

Hi,
I just found out that my employer did not update the work location on my LCA. I have been working in new jersey for over 4 years now. I have my primary address as Indiana and my company is registered in Illinois. I got payroll on Illinois for 2 years and now NJ for 1 year.
How can i correct this? Is it too bad a problem already?

H1 with company (X) was denied on May 2008, but made appeal to it and its in the process.

i have applied for H1 transfer to company (Y) throught consular processing. I got approval.
If i go for Visa Stamping would it be a problem. Live around Ca. planning to go for Tijuana, Mexico.

Company (y) says it won't generate pay stubb unless u get visa stamped. Do i really need pay stubb(s) with
company(Y) in order to go for stamping.or its okay to go with company (X) paystubs.
My paystubs are still with company (x) till month of May 2008.

Please while protesting, Try to position yourself in ways where the society will accept you. I took sociology and learnt a great deal and I feel minorities need to find a common ground and establish themselves with a new society. Please do not make them detest us or bully us in anyway. The racial slur will hurt our Commitment toward fair immigration. Mexicans brought US flags and acted like they are " them" - the common people of USA. We should win hearts by CONNECTING WITH CULTURE and SOCIETY WHICH WILL BE HOME FOR US IN YEARS TO COME.
